A collection of works from nationally known
quilter, Barbara Barr
Barbara is a Colorado native and lives in Jefferson County.
She has been sewing nearly all of her life, and started
making and designing quilts over 30 years ago. Barbara
is a nationally known award-winning quilter and prides
herself in designing her own patterns, from art to traditional
style quilts.

Henry and Angela Hite have collected quilts
for the past 30 years. The Amish quilts appealed to them with
the excellent workmanship, the diversity of patterns and colors
and the orderliness of the designs. |

Rebecca A. Stevens, curator at the Textiles
Museum in Washington, D.C., selected work in this show
from an international call for entries from the Studio
Art Quilt Associates, Inc. (SAQA) membership. SAQA is a
non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the
art quilt through education, exhibitions, professional
development, and documentation. Rebecca Stevens says, “Contemporary
art quilts are an exciting and creative force in the fiber
art world… They resonate with new voices
telling their stories alongside those of the pioneering
creators and first generation art quilt makers. And there
are many stories to tell.” |

The Rocky Mountain
Creative Quilters invite you to attend their first show,
August 23-24 from 9-5 on Saturday, 9-4 on Sunday. For
the first time ever, the entire traveling collection
of the 2008 Hoffman Challenge will
be on display. There will also be several hundred entries from the Rocky Mountain
region, hourly demos, door prizes, and other special displays. This event will
